Ergon has developed an unlabeled aromatic oil alternative
that is being used in rubber applications in place of the traditional
aromatic oils. The unlabeled aromatic alternative is called Ergon BO300. The
BO300 does not require labeling,
since it passes IP 346. Ergon has had performance tests conducted in tread stock
compounds at Akron Rubber Development Laboratories.
The decision to develop this oil was influenced by tire producers and their
desire to see an unlabeled aromatic oil alternative available in the United
States. There has been strong interest in this oil by
producers and synthetic rubber plants, particularly those interested in
production for global markets.
